Stage 1 (barfing) is done. Stage 2 (crafting) is well on its way… oh that’s the hard part. I have taken many of those rough sections of barf and have crafted them into much goodness. Subjects, raw thoughts, and ideas. Layouts of the important parts of the dialog have been expanded and the places marked ‘add more details here’ are being filled in. The trick is expanding some areas and doing away with others that seem unnecessary or redundant.

This is what I have learned this month: I have many characters but only a few are of great importance. I have write-ups on each of them. i.e., that fancy term – character studies.  I have a flow chart, a relationship chart, a circle of influence chart, and a counterpart chart. Part of my garage looks like a serial killer’s lair.  Perhaps I need to create a list of characters for inside the book, like a playwriter. If I did, I surmise mine would go at the end of the book? Or do I let people just struggle through it? No one would ever think to look for something like that? The characters all come and go anyways. This book just has the last of the mass introductions. Perhaps I could just post it somewhere… like say: my Patreon Page!

My question for the week has been: When is the D in Domes upper case and when is it spelled with a lower case? If it is The Domes, are both words capitalized? or is it that way only in the title? We don’t write The Washington ___, we just write the Washington Monument. That was a one-hour detour to read all about the Washington Monument BTW. Then if you’re in California, is it The 405 or the 405?  What would anyone do without an English teacher in their pocket? Ask the great oracle about proper nouns. What did the Great Oracle of the land of Google say? Yeah, just that. So that means the Domes with the ‘s’ at the end makes it a proper noun as if I’m referring to the ‘city’ of the Domes. If I just write about Alpha Dome? Is it: Once you finish with Alpha Dome, work on Beta???? No, that’s nonsense, and seriously, too many keys to press. Finish alpha dome first, then move on to zeta. That makes far more sense.

This month will continue to be filled with the crafting of the book and its flow. I am sure that I will spend plenty of time trying to make sure that no one kills Mac, the moon stays safe, and the other beings of the universe continue to play nice. There are objects to make work, and peeps to move. I have a lot of work ahead of me which will require copious amounts of tea.

I keep learning. That is the whole reason to push one’s self every day. The day I go to bed and can not think of a single thing that I have learned will most likely be the night I sleep forever.
