Let us start with the polite things: The weather. I was out at 1 am last week for about two minutes. I was doing nothing but watching the dog pee, and I broke into a sweat. This weekend I had a ticket to a concert, and it turned out to be the hottest night of the year so far. Of course, it was at an amphitheater. Also, to make it better, ‘Drunk, loud Karen’ was in the row behind me. She seems to be at every concert I’ve been to lately, including an opera. WTF? Oh, the hell with politeness – highly overrated.
Let’s go for the throat. I don’t know about you, but I’m so F’ing exhausted. The news has come out at the speed of light. There is such sadness, hopelessness, and fear. What is going on in this world? It seems like it is going to blow up any moment now. Everyone put on their hard hat.
Then floods, volcanoes, huge earthquakes, and tsunamis. We may blow up. We don’t need an alien invasion.
Mankind isn’t. We can kill ‘the other’ in the blink of an eye. If the aliens out there are watching us, I’m just hoping one of them will say to their buddy, “Hold my Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster” and then take us out of our misery. We humans have this idea, and we have made many movies about it. The kumbaya moment when the whole planet comes together in unity to kick ass when those ‘other’ are the aliens. I have hopelessness over that scenario as well.
These are full-out wars on our planet right. Wars for control and money, in the disguise of land resources, global geographic control, religious riotousness, and social growth. They are happening everywhere around the world. Misunderstandings sometimes cause wars. The worst wars are caused simply due to – dislike of ‘the other.’ The Crusades have been fought continuously for centuries. I hope we can find a way to calm our various wars – I will not say conflicts, that is what you and your neighbor have because he parks on your lawn. That could be grounds for a fist in the face, but not full-out war. No, skip that, now we seem to have guns pulled and cameras out for everything, even for stupid shit like that.
Keep your head together, and keep reading. Don’t be stupid. Keep things in your life as calm as possible. Take care of yourself. Let your focus drift when needed, and put a laser focus on what is important to you. Weed your garden, your news feeds, and your conversations if necessary. Refine what you deeply care about. Take care of your family, friends, and neighbors. Hold on. Find a way to play.
I’ll be here. You will be here. We will continue to play together. I have a secret planned for my Patreon people in a little bit. Join and read some tidbits.
How am I managing to get through all of this insanity? Never forgetting that music brings the world together even under the worst of circumstances. This performance is ancient, but still one of my favorite spectacles. I spend time diving into some crazy, known as Tommorrowland festival. Enjoy the Freak Show
