The trials of these last few months have been rolling around in my head. I have tried to stay positive but… It’s beyond difficult. Maybe all humans are feeling this way.
For me, there is another layer, perhaps, and it feels slightly deeper. I see many of the things I have written coming to life.
My first two books start to touch on world politics and deep conspiracy theories. What I have written thus far in the remaining four books contains deep dives into the silent wars of the future. How the strong influence of the emerging global control shifts before The Harvest.
Sci-fi writers have often been compared to prophets; I don’t want to be that. The things I see and write about scare me. The Dome of Resolutions was, for me, the most terrifying thing I have written thus far. The Terraformers are from a recurring nightmare. I had this dream for years until I finally scratched it out. When I sat down in a single-wide near the mountains to write and craft it, it remained a challenge. I tried and tried, shook and cried. To get through it, I turned it on its head. I wrote it out as humorously as possible. I decided to keep it that way at its core. Tom Robbins, one of my favorite authors, taught me that I can use $50 words and make serious points with humor. I think the funny stuff not only softens the blow but also drives a point home. Advice from my childhood: “If you can’t laugh at yourself, you can’t…” fill in the blank. We all grew up with different endings to this phrase. Mine was ‘laugh at others’, but then, gallows humor and schadenfreude have always been my favorites.
As we watch the new money and power of the Techbro’s infiltrate and topple the old money of the Bilderberg cabal, the only things changing are the names in the conspiracy theories. A.I. will continue to be both friend and foe. Many will continue under the same delusions with different owners, so to speak. We will continue to be manipulated to do the bidding of those at the top of the food chain. There will be many who see this and try to fight against it – please, continue that fight. Whether the Harvesters are from this world or another, is yet to be seen, yet the struggle and conflicts will continue.
The grand idea of the A Spec in Time series is the ability to start over after an extinction-level experience. Can we, will we, will it be better, or will it stay the same? It is time to look inward and outward. It’s an easy answer to say that some alien race will change the world. What if that doesn’t happen? What if I’m not a fortune teller on that count?
For those of you keeping up, I’m in the process of cleaning up the 1st two books in the series. After that, I will complete book three and move forward. I’m feeling more confident in my skills of refinement when it comes to my writing. Soon, more of the secrets held by the F&G, Spec, and the Multiverse will reveal themselves as we move toward humanity’s future path.
Sit back and enjoy the ride.
