What have I been doing?
Dealing with the death of a friend for 30 years. That took a lot out of me. As do most people(except Spec), I feel loss. I will miss her, yet I’m so glad that my friend has escaped the physical pain that her meatsac was causing her.
Taxes. That’s a big one. They have not been sent in, but they are done. I usually get this done much earlier in February, but…death.
A greenhouse upgrade I’m still tweaking, as the exhaust fan has a mind of its own about what temperature it should start and stop at.
A killer ice storm followed by a snowstorm, followed by many days of freezing temperatures. This time stuck indoors was taken up by program hell.
I have been through a great computer fight with MS Word. After three days of fear, anger, frustration, and tears, I have now forced myself to understand Office 365. Yes, I still hate it, but it is what it is. Speaking of programs that speak, I have also learned to use print-reading-out-loud programs. I hate the voices and the inability to enunciate some words, but it did give me a different grasp of what the reader hears in their head. Perhaps you already have, or will notice this in the rewrite of Sitting Room posted last week.
A complete rewrite of the short story Sitting Room is now finished. Hopefully, you have read it. If not, it is on Patreon for members. It is also now on Amazon, CLICK HERE, both for a small purchase price or Kindle Unlimited.
Maybe I have accomplished things and stuff since my last check-in.
I’m now starting to use my new fangled tools on The Harvesters to clean up at least the first 100 pages or so. I’m almost through page 50. It will go faster than I think now that I have beaten those programs into obeying me. Then I will go back to Inception while I continue dinking around with the rest of the Harvesters and some of the Domes. I would do all of it first, but I’m so close to finishing the raw writing of Inception that I just want to keep going. Editing is hard. I don’t like it. I have to do it, but I need my creative break from it, free of commas and dangling participles. 😉
More to come – if both the world and I survive through the next month.
Happy April
