A Spec in Time Series

Blog, I must blog… I have been trying to keep up with things, and now my word program is predicting what I’m going to type next. F* how do I stop that? I hate this program. AI needs to stop trying to help me. I have enough problems without contributing to them. I find myself on Google a lot, asking how to turn off the shit that is happening in my documents. Now it just jumped on me and put my typing two lines up. Sometimes when I’m correcting things, it deletes a whole word; sometimes only one letter. Trying to keep this new word program under my control is like falling off the top of a waterfall. Oh, and did I mention that it wants to rewrite my paragraphs? Yeah, that too.  It wanted that last line to be …control is like trying to keep a ball in a waterfall…. anyone ever heard that one?

The other not so fun thing I learned is that 365 keeps multiple copies of things, in places that are just a random list. Try to move those documents from that random list…hahahahahaha, I have watched videos and read help forums, I ain’t got a clue. Oh, and it really hated dialect. Guess what? My characters talk….in different dialects.

I may be experiencing further frustrations and growing pains as I try to learn my new software, which was supposed to make things easier. Kicking myself constantly for not just keeping what I was used to. It doesn’t keep my font the same from doc to another. If it is smart enough to put words in my mouth…fingers… it should know I’m dyslexic and that I always use the OpenDyslexic3 font when I am writing. ALWAYS. It is jumping lines again. I’m fighting for my life with this MS365 bullshit.

I got through the complete redux edits of The Harvesters last week, only to realize that the top half of the edits had vanished. Yep, 150 pages poof. I found them in one of the 15 documents=all named the same thing. All in this random list of everything I have written in the last 2 months. It took me days to figure out which one had the correct front end and which one had the correct back end. I finally did that and put it all together in another document under a new name. I want to get all of these misfit documents into a file, but there is no way to drag them into anything other file other than this big list. WTF Microsoft?

I went through and recorrected the first 150 pgs, I guess I was unable to find all of the work I did. Probably each of those 15 documents had a corrected ten-page section in them. Who knows what that was? It was just easier to redo that first half with the best of the ones I could find. It is now done.

I will have another read-through of the whole 350 (whatever it is) pages, then do the pagination for a soft-cover edition, as well as the eBook update. I’m much calmer now after screaming about this. These tools are good, AI sucks, I am learning. The redux of Harvesters will be done soon. I will try to cut and paste those bastard stray documents into a folder and start on The Domes. That should go a whole lot faster, as my editing team for book two was the bomb! I hope so, at least. I want to finish writing Inception soon.

Sorry for the bitch session, but that has been my life this last month.
